Community Meeting Tonight - Friday 22nd July 2022

As you would have seen on the recent Leaflet to residents, we have a community event tonight at 7:00 pm, starting at the Tanners Row entrance to Viking Field.   Please come along and support the Save our Balgrove Countryside Campaign.

It will be a chance to speak with the EARA team.  The press will be in attendance, and we want as many people as possible at 7:00 pm to show their support and be in a group photo.  For those that want, there will follow a walk from Viking Field to Leslie Sears, Blagrove and Doles Lanes to look at the area that would be built over.  There are some spectacular views on the route, and we will share snippets of local history along the way. We will then end at the Leathern Bottel pub. Everyone is welcome to join us!

Below is a What 3 Words location for the start of the Walk.

Update

Following their initial announcement and information that they would submit a planning application for 375 houses, there is no new update from Berkeley Homes.  Once we know more or an application is submitted, we will let everyone know how they can make their views heard and count.

If you want to help now, there are things you can do.

  • Ask friends and neighbours to join the mailing list using the link on the website http://evendons-area.org.uk or by emailing newsletter@evendons-area.org.uk.
  • Donate via the Paypal link on the website or click Donate Via PayPal - thanks to everyone who already has!  We need funds to produce leaflets and posters and support the Save our Blagrove Campain.
  • Send you photos of wildlife and the countryside in our area, and the best will be used on the website gallery and might be used in the following newsletters or leaflets.  Email to photo@evendons-area.org.uk

About EARA

In 2013, the residents of Evendons Lane and the surrounding area gathered as a Residents Association to try to maintain the local environment and help ensure that any development on land surrounding Leslie Sears and Viking field was appropriate. Several planning applications were successfully blocked.

If you no longer want the emails and your details removed, contact me at info@evendons-area.org.uk, and I'll update the list.
